About
Population Health Outcomes and Information Exchange
Health data are not easily shared with community members or most investigators. Available data are of tremendous value, but no single source 'puts it all together' to convey a timely, local health snapshot. Consequently, data for public health action are fragmented, incomplete, and typically lag by months or even years. In-turn, programs and interventions are often guided by intuition more so than evidence. To help address this gap, Wayne State University is developing the PHOENIX program.
The PHOENIX program hosts a data warehouse, ingestion and dissemination platform using the Google Cloud Platform in order to foster better research that improves population level health. The PHOENIX program will iteratively enable better interventions and program evaluations by facilitating stronger partnerships that focus on common data-driven goals to increase health equity in and around Detroit.
